- He played under the name Conover for Hanover in 1921.
Achievements
- In 1977, Carroll was inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame for his 25-year coaching career at Seton Hall (1948-72). competing in two College World Series and compiling a record of 341-185.[1]
- In 2008, was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame, along with Jackie Robinson of UCLA and University of Texas coach Billy Disch (1911-1939).[1]
