Richard Ernest Royce is single and lives in Oakland, California per the 1952 California League Gold Book (Fourth Edition). His nationality is Italian. He graduated from Oakland High School in 1951 and played baseball and football. He was selected on the all-city football team in 1951 and received a trophy as "Most Inspirational Player" in school. He attends Menlo Junior College during the off-season. He pitched for the Elko Indians who were the 1951 Nevada semi-pro champions.
