Russell Wilson was an amateur player selected in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft.

Outside of baseball

Played quarterback at North Carolina State University and was named MVP of 2010 Champs Sports Bowl [1]. In the summer of 2011, he transferred to the University of Wisconsin - Madison.[2]
