From obituary in Sporting Life: His base ball activities be gan in 1901, when he played third base for Des Moines, in the Western League. In 1903 he went to the Southern League and played with both Chattanooga and Memphis. Subsequently he joined an American Association team, and until two years ago was with both Dubuque and Rockford, in the I. I. I. League
