- Resided in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1952.
- Resided in Sacramento, California in 1953.
- Self-identified as being of Irish ancestry.
- During his first game with Greenville in 1938 he picked off two baserunners in one inning.
- Catching the opening day game at Saint Louis with Pittsburgh in 1946 was his greatest thrill.
- Broke his leg in 1946 and was out of the game for three years.
- Was named coach of the Sacramento Solons prior to the start of the 1953 season.
