The Hawaii Gazette, Aug. 7, 1867, mentions that during the Restoration Day (July 31st) Celebration in Honolulu, the Pacific BBC played a match game against an opponent whose name the newspaper garbled. The Honolulu Friend July 7, 1868, runs a letter from the BBC of the USS Mohongo thanking the Pacific BBC for allowing them to use their grounds.
