This game appears on the Protoball Games Tabulation [WNY table] compiled by Craig Waff. It was reported in Porter's Spirit on May 29 1858.

A best-of-three format was used, suggesting that the game did not observe Association rules. Genesee NY is abut 85 miles SW of Rochester, and near the PA border.
