The New Orleans Times Picayune, February 20, 1869, announced that the Osyka Base Ball Club had invited the editors to a grand ball. Same September 16, 1869 says the Osyka and Summit clubs squared off for the championship of Mississippi, with Osyka winning 47 to 23. The article is unclear on whether “Summit” is the name of an Osyka team, or whether it was a team from Summit, Mississippi.
