The Memphis Daily Appeal, June 12, 1875: “Another exciting contest came off at Moscow last Thursday. The Moscowites had respectfully solicited La Grange’s champion baseball club. The Excelsiors came down in all their splendor and beautiful uniform. They made quite a handsome appearance.”
