New Orleans Times, June 11, 1867 reported on a match in the army camp at Greenville between the Reveille Base Ball Club of company E, 4th US Cavalry, and the Jackson Base Ball Club of the 1st U.S. Infantry.
Greenville LA is not easily found. One website places it near the LA-MS border far north of New Orleans. By another account Greenville was annexed by New Orleans.
