The Thomasville Times, Aug. 7, 1875, reports that “Bainbridge, like most other towns, has base ball badly. It requires an expert to dodge the balls which are continually flying around. Same Oct. 23, 1875 says the “Aucillas” of Boston “will play a Bainbridge club on the grounds of the Red Clouds at Cairo, this week.” Same, June 10. 1876, mentions the “Stars” club of Bainbridge.
Bainbridge GA (current population about 12,500) is in the SW corner of the state, about 210 miles S of Atlanta and about 40 miles NW of Tallahassee FL.
