Peter Morris et al, editors, "Base Ball Pioneers, 1850-1870" mentions the Mansfields of Middletown playing the Lincolns of New Britain two games in 1866.
New Britain CT (1870 pop. about 9,500) is about 10 miles SW of Hartford.
