Sycamore True Republican, July 16, 1870, reports a game played July 5th at the Sycamore Fair Grounds, between the Crescets of Sycamore and the Potter Palmer BBC of Chicago. The Chicagoans were leading 30-27 after 7 innings, then stalked off the field after demanding (and not getting) a change of umpires. Potter Palmer was a prominent Chicago businessman and baseball backer.
