One of two teams active after the Civil War at Concordia Gymnasium, an educational institution in Fort Wayne. Sihler says baseball arrived in Fort Wayne in the autumn of 1865; he himself departed to continue his education in St. Louis in 1869.

Sihler describes the Alerts as the "crack club" at Concordia, and says they regularly beat the Kekionga, the "leading town club" in Fort Wayne.
