Kent News,June 1, 1867. Match game.

"Whilst expectation stood upon the que vive, at the expiration of the seventh inning the Wissahicon Club called the game, and as there was a difference of one run in their favor, they were declared victors. Surprise and regret could easily be discerned among all who witnessed the game, and watched it with much interest, particularly the ladies, who graced the occasion with their cheering presence."

"Anthony and Dyre made bases when they were hopeless, by an ingenious mode of slipping into them, in the teeth of the base men."
