Northville formed its first base ball club in 1867 which appears to have been the foundation for the club referred to as 'Eclipse' in 1869.

Online article about the Eclipse, accessed 2/28/2010 via Google Web search ("northville's eclipse"). Northville is about 20 miles W of Detroit.
