The Base Ball Club met yesterday, and have inaugurated their practice for the forthcoming tournament at Rochester.
Cecil Monroe in his article "The Rise of Baseball in Minnesota" in the Minnesota History Magazine of June 1938, pp. 165 claims the Champion Base Ball Club of Winona was organized in 1866 but gives no further specifics. Search continues for the source of his information.
