Base Ball -- A Base Ball Club has been improvised at Detroit (no slouches either) and there is a prospect of a match game on the Fourth, at this place, with the Glyndon Club, said to be a picked nine.

Detroit Lakes est. 1871.....population in 1890 was 1,510 with a high of 8,569 in 2010. It is about 200 miles NW of Minneapolis and about 45 miles E of Fargo ND.
Known as Detroit in its early years....name changed to Detroit Lakes to avoid confusion with the Michigan city....
