The SBBC was evidently the first club in Syracuse to play by Association rules.  Those 17 rules, adopted in 1854, had been printed the Syracuse Standard in May 1855.

The Syracuse Base Ball Club, reportedly formed "a few weeks before" an October 6, 1858 newspaper article that reported on an early intramural game.

It also played an intramural game on about October 21, 1858. This game, reported by Porter's Spirit and by the Clipper, WNY table) compiled by Craig Waff.
