Bob Burke, "Baseball in Oklahoma City" (2003), p. 7, says the first organized baseball team in Oklahoma City was sponsored by the Jennison brothers and was called the Jennison Pirates. They "played their first game on June 19, 1891, against the Purcell Chickasaws."
Wikipedia: "Oklahoma City was settled on April 23, 1889, when the area known as the "unassigned lands" was opened for settlement in an event known as "The Land Run." We don't have an estimate of its size in 1891, but it wasn't large. OK City is in the center of the state.
