The Gettysburg Republican Compiler, Nov. 27, 1865, reports on a game played on the 18th between the Gettysburg and Aurora BBCs of that city, "in the rear of the [Gettysburg] College Buildings." Same, Sept. 3, 1866: The Gettysburg Base Ball Club reorganized last week..."
Gettysburg PA is about 110 miles E of Philadelphia and 10 miles N of the Maryland border.
