This famous game was played Christmas Day at Hilton Head, before some 10,000 spectators, between the nine of the 165th NY Infantry, and a team from the 47th and 48th NY Infantry. All three regiments were from NYC/Brooklyn, and presumably the members played amateur NY-style ball.
