The Janesville Gazette of October 2, 1866, reported that Beloit papers had reported a base ball match between the Forest City club of Rockford (Illinois) and the Badgers of Beloit, in which the Badgers gave up in the 8th inning, being beaten 48 to 8.

The Janesville Gazette of October 11, 1866 reported in Beloit that the previous week, 4,000 were on the grounds to witness a game played between the Freeport and Beloit boys. Unknown if this is the Badgers or the Olympians of Beloit College (See entry for that team.)
