  • Played Little League and Babe Ruth League ball.
  • Earned a total of 12 letters in baseball, basketball, and football in high school.
  • Pitched six no-hitters in high school, including three in a row against Matawan HS while they were Central New Jersey champions.
  • Named to All-Conference and All-state baseball teams.
  • Led football team in rushing and basketball team in rebounds.
  • Played semi-pro baseball for Fort Monmouth, New Jersey and Freehold, New Jersey.
  • Set Jersey Shore League record of 22 strikeouts in a nine-inning game.
