The Daily Iowa State Register Oct. 18, 1866 reports on a state base ball tournament, involving the following clubs: Burlington Crescent, Mechanics, Orchard City and Westerns; Scott Club of Davenport; Hawkeyes of Mt. Pleasant; and the Actives of Ottumwa.
Mt. Pleasant IA is in the eastern part of the state. It is about 25 miles NW of Burlington IA, which is on the Mississippi River.
