On Canada's Pacific coast James Robert Anderson's diary described the game of rounders played in Victoria, (part of what would become the province of British Columbia) around 1849 from James Robert Anderson, Notes and Comments on Early Days and Events in British Columbia, (p. 167) in the Provincial Archives and Records Service of the Province of British Columbia. The influence for the play is likely British.
