The Chicago Daily Inter Ocean, Aug. 26, 1875 reports that the Morris White Stockings will play the Stone City of Joliet next Saturday in Joliet. There was a report of an 1851 Joliet team playing Lockport. See "early games." The Stone City seem to be a semi-pro team--at least, another article noted that they were playing the Chicago White Stockings in September and had some ex-Major Leguers on their team.
