The Jefferson City "State Journal," June 27, 1873: "The Enterprise Base Ball Club of this city and the Occidental of New Haven, Mo., will play a match game at Chamois on the 4th of July..." From the context of the article, it would seem likely that the Enterprise Club existed prior to 1873.
