The Colorado Springs Gazette, July 15, 1876: "The Greeley and Fort Collins base ball clubs are to be united, and a picked nine is to be selected from the organization to go to Central and take part in the great base ball tournament."
Fort Collins CO (1880 pop. about 1,400) is about 65 miles N of Denver.
Greeley CO (1870 pop. about 500; 1880 pop. about 1,300)is about 25 miles SE of Fort Collins.
