The Honolulu Pacific Commercial Advertiser, June 1, 1867: "Base Ball. In accordance with some hints previously dropped about the deservedly popular game of Base Ball, a party assembled in the open space on the Esplanade last Saturday [May 25th] afternoon, and amused themselves by exercise in this fine game, and reviving in many the pleasant memories of youthful days in other lands."
