Peter Morris et al., editors, "Base Ball Pioneers. 1850-1870" p. 234 has a section on the Pecatonica BBC of 1866. The Pecatonica team was so bad it was the butt of jokes nationwide. The Chicago Cubs were not in existence at this time to provide Pecatonica any competition for that honor.
