The Eckfords played professional and amateur baseball clubs throughout the Ohio Valley. The Chicago White Stockings made a memorable visit to Maysville in 1875. An overflow crowd at the Maysville Trotting Park watched the White Stocking defeat the Eckfords 31-8.
Maysville KY is in the eastern part of the state on the Ohip border. It is about 60 miles NE of Lexington KY and 60 miles SE of Cincinnati. Its current population is about 9,000.
