paper of Thursday, June 28 gives an account of a game between Cloquet and LaPrairie (a small community just south of Grand Rapids) from the previous Sunday (June 24), with Cloquet winning 25-14.
Paper of July 2 and July 23 gives accounts of games between Grand Rapids and LaPrairie
Grand Rapids; Incorporated in June 1891; population in 1900 was 1,428 and a high with the last census in 2010 of 10,869. The city, on the Mississippi River, is about 170 miles N of Minneapolis and 70 miles NW of Duluth.
