Base Ball Match....We give below the result of the match played yesterday between the North Star Club of St. Paul, and the Minneapolis Club. The issue was only what could have been foretold from the superior practice of the former Club, but we are confident that from the elements existing in our club we can report at a future meeting a better success.

North Star runs

Olin 5 W. Wilson 7 Paine 7 McConnell 8 C. Wilson 7 Daily 7 Spencer 6 P. Wilson 5 Tostevin 4

total 56

Minneapolis

Adams 2 Corbett 5 Bartlett 5 Raplee 4 Gross 3 Johnson 1 Chase 0 Mosbaugh 4 Slossen 2

total 26

The playing was spirited throughout, but our Club showed the want of practice, and the game was, of course, given to the best players. No discredit can be attached to either, for it was well played, and we hope for a better result at the next game, which is soon to be played.

The scoring does not show well fro some of our best players, no. 7, for instance, was unfortunate in recording a cipher, while his fielding was unexceptionable, their strong fly balls having been well caught by him. But "such is life." With practice we are satisfied that we have the players to make a better exhibition than was made yesterday.

Note: This is the first recorded base ball game played between clubs representing St. Paul and Minneapolis.
