The first appearance of a club in Skaneateles in the baseball clippings of the Onondaga Hist. Assn was reported in August 1866 as a 50-29 loss by the Skaneateles club.
Skaneateles is about 15 miles WSW of Syracuse. Its population is now about 7000.
