The Charleston News & Courier, Aug. 20, 1874 reports that on Aug. 18 the Ku Klux BBC of Winnsboro lost 31-17 in Columbia to the Columbia BBC.
The Augusta Chronicle, June 1, 1876, notes: “A match game of base ball will be played Tuesday, June 6, at Winnsboro, between the Nameless Club, of that town, and …”
Winnsboro SC (current pop. about 3600) is about 30 miles N of Columbia SC.
