Vancouver Register, Saturday, February 23, 1867, Page 3, 1st column, 8th item of "Local Matters":

BASE BALL CLUB. -- Occidental Base Ball Club was organized at Vancouver this week. The following officers were chosen : E. Freeman, President ; Dan. Leahy, Vice President; W. Armstrong Secretary. ; W. R. Turnbull Treasurer. E. Freeman, II. C. Morse and H. G. Struve, Directors. The Club numbers 18 members.

As of September 2012, this appears to be Washington's first modern club.

Vancouver WA is about 10 miles north of Portland OR, and about 2 miles north of the WA/OR border, at the Columbia River.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Vancouver Register, June 27, 1867, "NEW UNIFORM" New Uniform- The Occidental Base Ball Club has adopted the following uniform: White woolen shirt with red collars and cuffs and red shield on the breast with the letter "O" in blue upon it; light colored cap, white belt trimmed with red and the word "Occidental" in red upon it, and black pants. A very neat andtasteful uniform we think.
