The Stockton Base Ball Club played games in May and September of 1860. The October game appears in the Protoball Games Tabulation [Calif. Table] compiled by Craig Waff. The New York Mercury, March 18, 1860, reported that the Stockton club had organized with 40 members and elected T. K. Hook as president. Given the time lag of communications in those days, it is probable that the Stockton club organized at least a month prior to word reaching New York.
